What 100 cals in fruit looks like. 

Instead of a high-calorie snack from a vending machine, bring some cut-up vegetables or fruit from home. One snack-sized bag of corn chips (1 ounce) has the same number of calories as a small apple, 1 cup of whole strawberries, AND 1 cup of carrots with 1/4 cup of low-calorie dip. Substitute one or two of these options for the chips, and you will have a satisfying snack with fewer calories.

Remember:  Substitution is the key.

It’s true that fruits and vegetables are lower in calories than many other foods, but they do contain some calories. If you start eating fruits and vegetables in addition to what you usually eat, you are adding calories and may gain weight. The key is substitution. Eat fruits and vegetables instead of some other higher-calorie food.

Take a good look at your dinner plate. Vegetables, fruit, and whole grains should take up the largest portion of your plate. If they do not, replace some of the meat, cheese, white pasta, or rice with legumes, steamed broccoli, asparagus, greens, or another favorite vegetable. This will reduce the total calories in your meal without reducing the amount of food you eat. BUT remember to use a normal- or small-size plate— not a platter.The total number of calories that you eat counts, even if a good proportion of them come from fruits and vegetables.

Fruits and Vegetables will make you feel good and keep you from getting sick!

Fruits and vegetables have nutrients that make your body feel good and keep you from getting sick. The nutrients in fruits and vegetables consist of vitamins such as vitamins A, C, and E, which work to protect the body by supporting our immune system. In other words, with these vitamins the body has a better chance of fighting off illness causing viruses!  In addition, riboflavin, folic acid, and vitamin K keep your heart and blood healthy, and potassium keeps muscles working well.  All these nutrients keep the body looking healthy too! Fruits and vegetables are good for your skin and keep your hair shiny! Fruits and vegetables also provide fiber. The body receives numerous benefits when fiber is consumed. Benefits include preventing constipation, helping you feel full, helping to regulate blood sugar levels, supporting a healthy heart, and reducing the risk for colon cancer.

Right now, you might be thinking about the one or five slices of pizza you ate last night, or the extra calories you drank, or maybe you regret feeding your emotions until the point of no self-control. You feel like absolute shit. You don’t want to see or talk to anyone. Another binge. Another day of trying to do something different, but failing anyways. You feel as if despite your efforts, this day and the next will end the same. Yet, you don’t give up. And because of that, you feel even more hopeless. And, you feel as if you’re running out of time. However, today is special. Today will be the day, where you get out of bed and go through the day. Despite, feeling and looking bigger than you did a few days ago, maybe weeks ago, you still slip on the clothing you need to go throughout the day. You will plan out your goals and remind yourself of them. You will think of the type of eating habits you need to maintain for yourself. You will understand what these eating habits can do to affect your weight loss. You will NOT lose control. You will eat, but not too much. This is it. And this is final. As far as you’re concerned, junk food doesn’t exist. Eating healthy is the only desirable thing. Remember that GW or UGW? Picture that number - right now. Picture waking up at that number, sliding on a pair of whatever size jeans; feeling eyes on you as you eat your healthy lunches, getting that job, wearing whatever you want, shocking your family, being confident, smiling effortlessly, being the best you can in school, jumping up and down at the sight of your goal in the mirror or on the scale. Whatever your pick - you did it. You finally did it. No more crying about your body, no more pinching fat, no more hating yourself, no more dying inside, no more keeping yourself from the world - it will all be love, love, love and more love to everyone around you and more importantly, yourself. Today is THE DAY. And the next will thank you for today. And the next will thank you even more. It doesn’t take forever to reach your goal if you remain consistent and you have all of this in mind. Let’s start a revolution, weight loss community. This is a dare of inspiration and motivation - a dare to read this everyday, until you reach your goal. Start today. Be ready for tomorrow. Be happy about the day after tomorrow. Summer is just around the corner - the day it arrives, you will be happy you worked hard today. It is insignificant now, but it will mean so much tomorrow. Despite, this number you seen on the scale now. Despite, how small the difference it will be tomorrow. That moment when you realize you’ll have to stay in bed all day because you have a cold.
I feel so lightheaded…and taking this Saturday as a Rest Day seems to be the only option I have left.

I know I’ll feel weird without my usual workout ;; But I hope to be way better by tomorrow if I sleep enough today.

100 calorie single serving chocolate brownies low fat, vegan, and delicious chocolate craving hit me hard today! so i wanted to bake a batch of brownies, but i knew i would eat them all. so i searched and searched all over the internet for a low calorie brownies and it came down to this! tried it just today, worth making. 1tbsp flour
1tbsp sugar
1tbsp Cocoa, Dry Powder, Unsweetened
2tbsp apple sauce (or smashed banana, or canned pumpkin puree)
1pinch of salt and baking powder
mix and put into a microwave or oven safe bowl (a small one like custard cup or a paper cupcake liner works too) microwave for 30 seconds-minute or 3-10 minutes in the oven! since there is no eggs the center can still be under cooked if you prefer a lava cake! since this is only 96 calories, add a drizzle of peanut butter, a small scoop of low cal ice cream, cool whip or non dairy whip, get creative!
variations peppermint:
1 tsp peppermint flavor
1 tsp chopped peppermint candy on top chai: 2 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground cardamom rocky road: top with a few marshmallows 1 tsp chopped nuts sundae: 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries 1/2 cups of bannas mocha: a pinch of instant coffee
